Door Strikers for a 1979 240D Mercedes
The first version of the drilling template was created to help accurately place holes on construction sites. It was designed tall and thick to stay rigid, but during testing, workers noticed it cast shadows over the work area, making it hard to see and align properly—especially in low light.
To reduce this issue, the design was made thinner, which improved visibility. To keep it strong and prevent bending, ridges were added throughout the design. The prototype was 3D printed in PLA to keep prototyping costs low. Once finalized, the template was printed in PETG-CF (carbon fiber-reinforced PETG) to provide better strength and durability for on-site use.
